Antonia Clayton
Award-winning Senior Copywriter & Creative Director
I'm an award-winning Senior Copywriter and Creative Director.
A mum. A friend. And, I hope, an all-round decent human.
With over 25 years of creative agency experience, I've led, written and created A LOT of stuff for some pretty awesome brands (McDonald's, Mars, The Economist, Walkers, Women's Aid) in some of the best places (AMV BBDO, TBWA London, Leo Burnett, Engine UK). I've forged successful client relationships, collaborated with brilliantly talented people and picked up a few shiny bits of metal along the way.
I'm also fairly decent at Zumba and rarely put myself on mute accidentally. That's important.

Project: print campaign 'Not model's own'
Agency: engine uk
I wrote and co-created the 'Not Model's Own' print campaign for fashion-led publications. Using the style and language of magazine editorial fashion to highlight the feelings created by a controlling partner and the negative impact they have, it still runs to this day in Grazia, free of charge. It won a Bronze at Creative Circle and Kinsale Sharks, as well as making Campaign's Top Ten press ads of 2021.
Project:Online film 'spot the abuse'
Agency: Engine uk
The brief was to create awareness of what coercive control actually is and to educate young women and men on the signs to look out for. I co-created and wrote an online film that adopted the typical style of a game show format, thought-provokingly named 'Spot the Abuse'. It made the top 5 worldwide by Adforum in December 2021.
Spec project: secret stickers
agency: engine uk
I co-created and wrote Secret Stickers as a discreet way to talk to vulnerable women safely in supermarkets and pharmacies during the first Lockdown. The idea was to place them on female-orientated products and by using typical retail language at first glance, reach out directly and discreetly to those who needed help and advice from the Women’s Aid Live Chat service.
